About Urban Habitat Landscaping
Urban Habitat Landscaping is all about creating beautiful, functional, and environmentally sound landscapes in Perth. Specialising in urban ecology, I design outdoor spaces that not only look stunning but also support local biodiversity. My passion for landscaping began with transforming underutilised verges – often dry and weed-filled – into thriving native gardens that attract wildlife, aid pollination, and require less water than your average lawn. Whether it's a native verge or a full landscape overhaul, I bring science-based, sustainable solutions to your urban habitat.
About Tim
I am a passionate gardener and ecologist with a keen eye for design. My background in marine biology, zoology, and environmental chemistry has given me a deep understanding of Western Australia's diverse ecosystems. As a taxonomist and ecologist, I’ve worked across the Southwest, the Pilbara, and the Swan Coastal Plain, studying the intricate relationships between plants, animals, and their environments.
This ecological perspective is the foundation of my landscape design. I believe that a garden should be both visually striking and environmentally mindful—enhancing biodiversity, supporting local wildlife, and thriving in its natural setting.
Currently, I am pursuing a master’s degree in marine biology, focusing on the restoration of WA’s seaweed and kelp forests. This research, funded by Kings Park and UWA, complements my passion for ecological restoration on land. While completing my studies, I’m running Urban Habitat Landscaping part-time to bring sustainable, beautiful landscapes to life.
